Chocolate for breakfast? Why not! Cacao and raspberries make this a perfectly indulgent yet healthy breakfast smoothie bowl. Combined with the goodness of oats and creaminess of frozen bananas, it’s fibrous, packed with antioxidants and will leave you feeling full up. What better excuse than to start your day with some dessert!
INGREDIENTS (serves 1)
For smoothie base:
- 2 ripe frozen bananas, chopped
- 1/4 cup almond milk
- 1/4 cup frozen raspberries
- 1 tablespoon almond butter*(optional)
- 1 tablespoon rolled oats
- 2 tablespoons organic non-alkalised cacao powder
- 1/2 teaspoon bee pollen
- 1/2 teaspoon chia seeds
- Any granola of your choice / dark chocolate roasted oats
Blend all the ingredients for the smoothie base in a high speed blender for a few minutes. Pour it into the bowl and add any toppings of your choice.
If you feel a tad indulgent, try the dark chocolate roasted oats! It’s a two ingredient treat you won’t regret. Simply dry roast the rolled oats in a pan on a medium heat and stir it in with some melted dark chocolate (70% works best!).
It’s as simple as that!
